13th and 14th watercolour #Jan30in30 – Painting so many that I

January 16, 2015

am painting like I use to read books.  I could never have just ‘one’ book, (well maybe Jean Auel), anyway…. I have so many ideas for paintings that I can never quite settle on just one. And when you paint or I paint, in this case, in watercolours, there are many, many times you have to stop.!

Just stop painting and put it away, come back to it, give it a rest, think-a -bout-it!!!!

So……………….that’s what I’ve been doing, in the painting department anyway. The taking the photo and uploading and getting it ready for the web, and checking that you are ready to upload is a lot of time and effort and love.  I love what I do, but I swear, we just need more hours in a day, (at least once a week, instead of every 4 years) or to have to stop sleeping so much.  I love lOVE, Love to sleep, but I wish I could pick and choose.

Back to the paintings

Here are some finished ones and a brand new just started today the 16th of January.

Getting excited to paint again for the 30in30, so I’ve been painting

so I started painting them, (wow am I out of practice painting from real life).  I use to do this kind of small, detail painting all the time.  Now my tastes are running to the more abstract and how the colors feel.

Like this beauty of an apple/olive/old gnarly  blossoming springtime tree, out of my imagination.

Getting my ideas in order for the ’30in30′    A few weeks back I  started getting my watercolor pallets ready for painting big.  I do love my big pallet that I have had for many, many years, well since college in my 30’s. All of my professors always wanted me to paint big, “bigger”, they would say.  So I bought a big pallet for the time I would paint bigger.  My little 5×7 to 8×10 size format of prefrence back then can be very limiting some times.  But I realized that part painting so small was because it was easier to pick every thing up or pull everything out when I had small children.

My paint/ pallete sorting was a big undertaking and time consuming and I won’t bore you with the details, (unless you are interested in it for another post?? maybe)…

I’ve also been taking a paper survey.  I want to make sure I am all set up to get started on this exciting challenge.  I am going to push myself to paint a little something every, single, day. !  And my son told me today that he is going to hold me too that statement.  A little daunting, but I really, really want to do this and I trully believe the timing is right.  2015 is going to be an incredible year and I’m excited to be getting my love of painting and therefore my business of selling my art off to a great start this year.

Just filling you in on what’s going on in my little space on this Earth called Sophia, Gia, Mother Earth.

Happy Winter Celebration

And birds, I love me some birds.  This little guy was inspired by a Field Sparrow that came to our feeders one day.  And only one day, I haven’t seen it since.  Must have been migrating through.

If you ever want to buy any of my art I will pay shipping to your place.  Each picture ought to take you to the link to buy it and then I will reimburse your shipping costs, easy-peasy.
