Looking back through my photos posted on my Blog in the past

December 29, 2014

I found these gems I forgot all about:

I just loved the colors of this early April Spring day here in El Salto of northern New Mexico.  I was taking a coworker home up a road I really never see and on this day the weather was magical.  Full of snow and spitting sleet.  Spring colors were popping everywhere and acequia’s were starting to run full of snow melt.

Across the road the misty air was thick with moisture.

On another spring time day, but this one down in Ranchos de Taos, New Mexico, my honey was tiling the farmers new house and I was sneaking up, or rather trying to sneak up on the new spring lambs down by the riverside.  Aren’t they just so fun and frisky?

Spring is just my favorite season of all and now that winter has finally arrived I’ve started dreaming of spring.

April springtime in northern New Mexico photographs

April 12, 2014

Starting my day driving  up to the ski valley, I caught this Red-breasted Robin high in the red willows behind a snow covered green willow tree.  What a delight

was taking a co-worker home I headed up into El Salto in a typical springtime day of snow showers interspersed with sunshine:

all the sap is rising around here and it’s turning everything rich red and saturated greens pushing through the gold colors left over from autumn and winter:

The whole hillside is bleating with sheep calls (which unfortunately I was too far away from) and the birdcall was as plentiful as the snow flurries:

August????? where did you go?

August 30, 2013

My goodness,

And I thought I was really do ok for me with my postings, or so I thought.  And now here it is the next-to-last-day of August, 2013.

I guess I was so much busier than I thought I was:

can’t resist.

My daughter and her love, Kawika came to visit in later August and I am one proud mama.  She is growing or I ought to say ‘has’ grown into a remarkable young woman and she has found a mate for herself that is as wonderful and beautiful as she is.

I watered my gardens this way with such love and caring hoping they would show-off their finery just for these young lovers on their first road-trip out of Washington, and they did:

lots and lots of amazing sweet, nourishing rain-storms came and gave blessing to our part of the world.  And we loved it….everyone, even those people that are use to complaining about the weather, were quiet in their verbal blessing of joy and bliss, and we got more rain:

A few years back the meadows of El Prado turned blue, but then they didn’t. Wildflowers come in waves of differences over the time of years.  Does that make sense.  Watching the patterns are so wonderful for me,  the progression of times changing and growing.

New Mexico Penestom

I adore these wild flowers and they really didn’t bloom this year at all,  (actually this was taken in July of 08)  but I was missing them, because they come in waves as well.  It all depends on rain, how much we get and when.  What time of year it rains, plays a hugh part in what blooms and what doesn’t in that season.

I love this even slightly fuzzy, because it reminds me of all the big storms we’ve been having.  I adore rain, thunder and no lightning storms. Actually I love the lightning too, but NOT this year, not here.

My crowning glory this year and Rachael loved them.

Lily’s are just incredible and I really had no idea until I grew these. And their fragrance is divine…….

My daughter and her mate were coming and having a bit of a few bumps in the road getting the final details together, so I got into the uplifting, think positive quote thing going on.  I posted this on Facebook for her.  and she made it and we got to meet Kawika.  What a  joyous way to spend August, 2013.

gardens.

I adore flowers, I always ALWAYS have.  I paint them, I notice them, I want to crawl into them,  I love the fragrances of them, the colors of them.  I just Adore Flowers

'this is what I woke up too'

‘this is what I woke up too’

I bought this daylily blooming last summer and set around my yard for a few days.  You know to get the feel of where it wants to be.  Always somewhere I can see from one of my windows (Preferably the long, floor to ceiling Pella south-east window). And the light through it as the sun was setting told me that this was the spot.  And this is the morning light through here in these shots.

Do you or have you ever seen these?  They are just so lovely and elegant.

These are the beautiful seeds/babies of these winding, curvy bright green onions.  They are like big hollow chives but way cooler.  I have some other photos of these I’ll have to dig out.

Tinkerbell Fairy Wildflowers

Tinkerbell Fairy Wildflowers

I’m not positive what these are called but I love them.  They always remind me of a dear friend I use to know. Her name is Chris and we met in a watercolour painting class together back in 1984.  We use to go draw and paint together.  Fast friends right from the start and we both knew it instantly.  (Chris B I hope you are reading this and know it’s me).

BeLoved HollyHocks

BeLoved HollyHocks

For some reason in my early 20’s I didn’t think I liked hollyhocks, have no real recollection of why-not.  anyway…. I so love mine.  I’ve been trying for years to grow these wonderful graceful, bright, beautiful flowers.  I’ve have finally succeeded with this amazing bright pink one.

Blue Mist love bush

Blue Mist love bush

I never knew about this bush until I came to New Mexico and I went on a tile job with my honey.  This client of Len’s had these hugh glowing purple bushes in the middle of the summer growing all over his property.  And I feel in love again (seems I love lots of flowers)  Hummingbirds were everywhere all over it.

My girlfriend Peggy sold me this one when she ran the Garden Center in Taos.  She knows so much and just amazes me with all the info she has about flowers, plants and design stored in her wonderful brain.

Iris, Roses and Lobelia from my Gardens

The Magic of an Iris

The Magic of an Iris

Twisted

These Iris were from last month and I’ve really been wanting to share them with you.

Iris’ to me are such an incredible flower.  They don’t take much water, they can lay around out of the ground for seasons on end and still survive when you finally stick them in the ground.  And the flowers are STUNNING.  The fragrance they emit is so heavenly that I’m sure the clouds in heaven are floating on their magical aromas.  They remind me of my Grandma Hogard and my father, her son.

And then yesterday morning, while out on my morning walk around the gardens I noticed my Peace Rose was beginning to really open up
