Watercolour Alert ❧ ❧ ❧ ❧ ❧●

I fianlly, actually got inspired to paint again and this time by one of my own photographs too:

I did paint my favorite photograph (probably of all time) of my little Pigmy Nuthatch on Yupo paper:

( click the image and it will take you to my Etsy shop)

‘Pigmy Nuthatch’ Watercolor on Yupo by CheyAnne Sexton

September last year. But I really wanted to paint one of my birds on watercolor paper, there is a difference for sure.

I loved this image of a little Song Sparrow I took the other morning down on the rio   ‘Song Sparrow tangled in Pink’

The true painting will emerge when my studio guy does his magic and captures my painting in all it’s nuisances of color and hue.

This photo is from the first image after I started.  I forget to capture the different stages that I create, sorry……

you can really see the misket here, it’s the dull brownish lines.  I think this is one of the funnest parts of watercolour for me, is using misket.  Sometimes I really start to like what’s happening as I paint around it and with it, so when I take it off, I have to re-see the piece with fresh eyes.  But when I take it off it feels like Christmas to me.  I really, really love that part.

just need to set up my big camera so I can post this for sale

It has felt so good to paint again.  To have the time and the space and the freedom to take this time, to get back to my bliss.

Happy spring with butterflys of July

April 1, 2013

wanting to post something spring like

ready for takeoff over bokeh

ready for takeoff over bokeh

I’ve been cleaning up my photographs that I have transfered to my external hard drive.

so many beauties

so many beauties

I’ve been dumping photos into MyBook for years. Alot of them are in order and in files I understand, but I have tons of files with just dates on them and no idea of what’s in the folder.

It’s actually kind of fun finding photographs I forgot all about.

I finally got all my 2011 cleaned up and sorted.  Wow that felt great and now I’m working on 2012.

here's looking at you, I mean me...it's looking right at me

I found these beauties from last July down along the river.

moths too were everywhere

Butterflys just fascinate me.  I wish I knew what all of these are called.

river bokeh is amazing with butterflys everywhere

I must have shot and edited 200 photos of just these amazing little creatures that day.  There seemed to be hundreds, but probably really 50 all fluttering around these bold yellow river daises.

I’m so glad spring is here.  I even saw a little white butterfly today down by the river when I went to get water.  First one of the year.  I wonder what they eat right now with nothing blooming.??

Peace n Abundance,

CheyAnne

trying to start a new habit

December 19, 2012

by posting something everyday or close to it, close enough to remember I ought to be sharing something. I have so much abundance in my life and want to share it, but I get so wrapped up in other things that I keep putting it off.

Here is a favorite flower of mine and just love these little gems of the springtime gardens.  (Look pretty cool with this WordPress snowfall too)

I once answered an ad (back when those were pretty much just in newspapers) for some pots or something. something that had to do with gardening. As I drove up this womans driveway the sun was right in my eyes.  I slowly pulled up and around this stone wall and right in front of me were brilliant, dazzling,  purple sparkles just gleaming in the sun light…. here was this row of purple hyacinths growing on the top of this retaining wall that led up from the parking area to the womans front door.  You couldn’t help but fall in love with little beauties.  I kept reaching out to touch them as I walked up her stairs.  she had them right at face level most of the parking lot up.  Just incredible and I’ve tried to grow them everywhere I have lived since.

Grape hyacinths are very easy to grow from a bulb planted in the fall.  They send their low growing  slender long leaves out every fall. Those get buried in the snow and come spring (usually around Easter) out pops a wonderfully heaven scented delight.  Did I mention the fragrance before?????  Oh my just like purple would smell, kinda like a juicy purple Popsicle.

They are also very easy to force indoors.  Just a plate of pebbles and water touching the bottoms and you’ll soon have these little gems blooming inside while the winter winds are howling (as they are doing right now outside my door).

Maybe that’s what encouraged me to post about them.

peace n abundance,

CheyAnne
