Pansy Watercolor Sketch and not surfing the web…..as much

Finally, I’m posting something.  I come over here all fired up and inspired to post what I/we’ve been up too and I get sidetracked by everyone else’s wonderful posts and paintings and updates…….. I love it, but I find I don’t get any of my creativeness out there.  I really have to learn how to budget my computer-time better.  I have been really good about not surfing so much and turning this dang thing OFF.  I have been getting out into the garden and yard earlier in the am now. Now that it is actually getting warmer and sometimes even hot.  So the other day after digging a hole for one of our pond liners, I decided to paint….. Yes you heard me right I actually picked up my paint brushes, instead of my camera or Mac, and I did a simple quick sketch, without drawing first……

pansy sketch

painting, finally

I have many others to share, but I really should turn this thing off and get on with my day.

peace n abundance,

CheyAnne

Good for you! I have a little note with my three “resolutions” for the new year, which haven’t changed in two years. The top one? “Less blogging, more writing”.

Since I write on the web, that might be a little confusing, but what I mean is – less link-hopping, less chit-chatting, less traveling down the yellow brick road that leads to the heart of bloggie-land and all its treasures.

Truth is, I could quit my job, start browsing and still not be done ten years from now. So, if I’m going to produce writing for the web, it’s time….to….turn…the thing….OFF now and then!

One article you might really enjoy is this one called “Disconnecting Distraction”, written by Paul Graham. I read it about every two months. Very useful, and good to know the best in the business have the same problems we do!

Oh! Your pansies are beautiful! When I get to it, could I use that photo of the flowers in a blog – with attribution and links, of course!

So pretty! It is hard to go about the business of selling online without surfing more than you’d like. I call it getting sucked down the rabbit hole. Good luck making more work- I love your watercolors!

of course you may. Would you like me to straighten them up and all that fun stuff or do you want them just like this? I would be so honored if you used my work on your wonderful blog. I started reading your yard-sale one and was laughing about how true that is, that it is just someones elses rejects that we just can’t live without. Especially that box of those old aluminum ice-cube racks. I really want those…. lol

I love that “I could quit my job, start browsing and still not be done ten years from now” How true, how true. Summertime is easier to let it all go, but then again, here I sit with my friends that make part of this yellow-lined-rabbit-hole so intriguing and fun. Reading and sharing more ideas or images. I will go check out this site you mentioned. Thanks for that

I came to your site by way of Kate Johnson’s “Artist Journal Workshop” blog. I love your pansies. I also so relate to not posting enough of my work because I get distracted surfing…but sometimes I find great stuff. Thanks for sharing!
