yellow rose sketch with my watercolors
on an afternoon was we were listening to coast-to-coast
my new Yellow Rose blossom
I love, love, love yellow roses. When my husband (at the time) and I brought our first son home from the hospital, my yellow rose was blooming and I fell in love with this color. I really adore the yellow that is tinged with pink on the edges, but it seems a little harder to find. This is a Knockout from Wal-Mart. Seems to be doing pretty well with a little rose food and moisture. So out came my watercolours, just to sketch, not necessarily produce a finished painting.

I really want to blog these days, but my brain has been blank.
It rained here last night, a good rain. It has been a very dry winter in North Eastern New Mexico. Tons of acres of fires have been happening big time down in Eastern and Southern New Mexico, since like February. This rain was really nice. It lasted for awhile and soaked the ground pretty well.
This morning one of my first questions to my honey was “Did it rain enough to leave puddles?” No was the answer, but that’s ok. This rain was more moisture than we’ve had for a while. I’m so glad spring is finally coming.
Yesterday I went with my honey on bidding a tile job and this was down in town, which is 1500 ft lower in elevation. Lots of things, well lots more than up here, are starting to bud and bloom out..

and then I played around with a few beautiful shots that weren’t quite in focus

and this next one down had a little bumblebee flying straight to an open flower with a beautiful black shadowed background and yet the bee and bud were in the light. so I turned it into a little photoshop watercolor
into the light he buzzes

really love my watercolors, well not everyone I’ve ever painted, but you don’t see those. But I have to say that I am as in love with this single bloom now as the day I painted it many years ago. I still have the original painting, which is a whole bouquet of fuchsia, honeysuckle, pink peonies and yellow tulips. I can’t part with that AT all. So here is a little tease, a little taste of exquisite Love.
