I’m going to be in my first, well kinda,

May 17, 2012

art show in quite a heck of a long time.  It is an Equine Art show Which means I get to focus on my Ponies and Horses art, both my watercolours and photography.

I am so super stoked and it’s all happening with ‘ease and grace”.  My motto for a long time now………

This is an original that I will offer for sale for the first time at the show.  All matted and framed up.

and then I can  include my first “Ponies in the Meadow”

"Ponies in the Meadow" on my mac

as an incredible laminated WaterColor giclee any size.  Maybe bigger than I’ve done before, like maybe an 16×20 or something close.

sooooo  many choices to choose from.

Lots of prep to do to make it the best I can be.  35 days and counting.

I have a 10×10 wall space to hang my art and make a lasting impression.

If you have suggestions, please feel free to fess up, k?  I would love it….

yellow rose sketch with my watercolors

on an afternoon was we were listening to coast-to-coast

my new Yellow Rose blossom

I love, love, love yellow roses.

Back 30 years ago as of July 24, 1982, when we brought our first son home from the hospital, my yellow rose was blooming and I fell in love with this color.

My favorite yellow that I just adore is the yellow that is tinged with pink on the edges, but it seems a little harder to find.  This is a Knockout from Wal-Mart, and it’s just yellow, but such a wonderful rich lemon yellow that changes to white as it stays open.  And the scent is just heavenly and fragrant, A little spicy and yet sweet too.  At first I wanted the yellow to last longer, but the more I grow it the more the white grows on me too.  Perfect for a moon garden. Seems to be doing pretty well with a little rose food and moisture.  So out came my watercolours, just to sketch, not necessarily produce a finished painting.

and I tried another one with a darker background, but lost my momentum

collecting beautiful artwork from others

March 28, 2012

Seems like artist everywhere like to share their amazing work.  they price it as low as they can so people that see it, love it right away, and then see a price and love that too.

I’ve been collecting art from other artist over the 5 years I’ve been on Etsy.  And even longer really….. back in my college days  (@31 and 32) and from my mother always….

One of my latest purchases is from http://www.etsy.com/people/EcoProduct

Remember When…

March 14, 2012

I talked about lamination of my prints and how easy it is to frame them this way.  Wellllll….  I sold a really big hugh 30×40 inches photograph of my Old Blue Chevy with the WaterTank..

Talk about exciting….., to sell something this big was a gas!!!!  And then when I told her about having it laminated, she was all for it, as long as the colors didn’t suffer.

Me and My Old Blue Chevy with WaterTank as a 30x40

And She LOVES it, hers that is.     “Super love this amazing photo! We are very happy with the lamination process, you barely know it’s there. This photo is awesome this large, and is the focal piece of our country chic master bedroom!!! Photos to follow soon :) ) Thanks CheyAnne!”  Is her feedback.

and she also told me

“Received my print yesterday and it is stunning!!!! I cant wait to hang it. I can’t tell if it is laminated or not, but the front feels texturally different from the back. If this is the lamination, it beautifully preserves the photo!”

It was so gorgeous really big like this,  ssooo……Me and my honey had to have one too!

You can touch them and love them and they can withstand lots of elements.  All archival and wonderful to behold.

I taped it onto the wall with clear packing tape and plan on fitting molding right on top of the tape, to make it look like a standard, altho Very Large frame with a back, but it won’t need any backing.  We did notice that when you take it out of the container you better have a super flat big area to unroll it and hang it right away.  It can get kinks in it and so far those little mistakes look like part of the bangs and dings in the old truck, but I wouldn’t want one in the sky.  It would probably show up too easily.  So we hung it right away.

Leonardo is so in love with this one, he can't wait for the next one.

We think it will be this one

or maybe

Old Blue Chevy in the Field

and I really like this view

Old Blue Chevy in the Snow

Are there any of them that are your favorite?  I could do this for you too.

Check out my other old trucks on Etsy

Thank you Sarah in Arizona, for making this possible.  It’s definitely a big one for me.
